Bruce Richard Gregory, 64, of Idaho Falls, died May 30, 2011, at the University of Utah Medical Center.

Bruce was born October 13, 1946 in Norwich, Connecticut, the only child born to George Gregory and Helen Schwenk Gregory. He grew up in Norwich and graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1964. He graduated from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor’s degree in math and an MBA from the University of New Haven.

Bruce served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam but was later transferred to Okinawa.

He married Beverly Evans in 1977 in Norwich.

Bruce worked in human resources, employee relations, and labor relations at various nuclear facilities and in 1990 moved to Idaho. At the time of his death, he was employed at CHM2Hill as a Labor Relations Manager at the INEL site.

Bruce served as the Director and First Vice Chairman of the Board at Westmark Credit Union, Chairperson for the United Way in 2002 and 2003, and President of his Homeowners Association. He was a member of the Elks for over 30 years and was active in Actors Repertory Theater in Idaho Falls and in Connecticut was active in Tuckerburg.

Bruce was very kind hearted and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone he knew. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, colleagues, and the community.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Gregory of Idaho Falls, and 2 children: Jordan Ashley (Michael) Ashworth of Portland, Oregon, and Collen Barrett Gregory of Idaho Falls as well as a host of friends and family in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Bruce was preceded in death by a son, Tyler Matthew Gregory, and his parents.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2011, at the Elks Lodge, 640 East Elva, Idaho Falls. Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, Idaho.
