Obituary

Alan Stanley Ruoho was born on September 1, 1961, to Brenda Ruoho and Ronald Ray Ruoho. He passed away at his home on October 20, 2025.

Alan was a young boy when he and his brother Mike lost their dad, Ron. Alan would acknowledge throughout his life that he had lost his best friend the day he lost his dad. A few years later, Brenda married Lee Clair Ormond, and their family moved from Idaho Falls to Shelley, Idaho. In Alan's eyes, he was blessed to have had two fathers in this lifetime. His relationship with Ron was very tender. Ron bought him his first motorcycle and shotgun. He enjoyed the times he went hunting with his dad. When he lost his dad at the age of twelve, he felt lost and somewhat broken. When Clair came into his life at the age of sixteen, he quickly learned to love him. Clair continued to feed his passion for hunting and riding motorcycles. Clair was a mentor to Alan in many ways, and Alan was aware of the love that Clair had for him. On a family camping trip in the Sawtooth Range, Alan rode his motorcycle over some beaver ponds and started fishing. He caught his limit for the first time in his life. He was so excited to get back to camp and tell Clair and Brenda. He jumped on his motorcycle to ride back, missed the trail over the beaver dam, and rode his motorcycle into the beaver pond. Everyone had a good laugh about the situation and then proceeded to help him retrieve his motorcycle from the pond, which turned out to be a not-so-easy task.  He was quite proud of his catch, despite the unforeseen swim he had taken that day.

Alan loved his brother Mike more than words could express. He would often share memories of their childhood, and he truly enjoyed the experiences he had in life with his brother. He was very proud of him and all of his accomplishments.

Alan formed some lifelong friendships during his years in Shelley and always spoke highly of his friends J.R. Lott and Gene Marshall. J.R. and Gene were like brothers to him, and he had a lot of love and respect for them.

On July 24, 1993, he married Deborah Ann Staley. They were later divorced but remained good friends throughout the years. During their marriage, they welcomed three amazing humans into this world. Ashley, Samuel, and Melisa were Alan's pride and joy, and he loved them all wholeheartedly. He would also express how much he loved his grandchildren, and they brought a lot of joy and happiness to his life.

Alan loved being outdoors and found much pleasure in outdoor sports such as skiing, motorcycle riding, and whitewater rafting. He was always up for a good adventure.
Alan was obsessed with semitrucks from the time he was young. It was no surprise to those who knew him well that he became a truck driver and traveled the country for many years in a big rig. He loved sharing stories about his journeys and the beautiful sights and
sceneries he had the privilege to behold. He was charismatic and always seemed to make friends in his travels.

Alan is survived by his daughter, Ashley (Ty) Chapman of Lewistown, MT;  son, Samuel (Chantelle) Ruoho of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Melisa Ruoho of Idaho Falls, ID; his grandchildren: Marlee, Ziggy, Riggin, Ryker, Tinley, Bliss, and Eloree Jo (who will be joining our family soon); brother, Mike (Karyn) Ruoho of Saratoga Springs, UT; nieces and nephews: Jake Ruoho of Salt Lake City, UT; Kortney (Brad) Fowler of Woods Cross, UT; Janessa (Chris) Brown of Tooele, UT;  Matt (Jessica) Ruoho of Orem, UT.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Ray Ruoho, Brenda Ruoho Ormond, and Lee Clair Ormond; and a granddaughter, Maizie Rae Ruoho.
