Alden B. Rice, 73, of Idaho Falls, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital.
Alden was born June 6, 1949, in Salmon, Idaho to Alden Burdick Rice and Clara Louise Brown. He was the oldest brother of Jenneal, Mel, and Craig. Growing up they enjoyed camping, family trips, and reunions.
Alden graduated from Boise High School, the class of 1968, he then served an LDS Mission in the New England States. On October 20, 1972, he married Viola Kay Montgomery in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 48 years.
He had many jobs in his life, however, his longest was when he became a long-haul truck driver for CR England. After retiring from driving a truck he moved to Idaho Falls to enjoy the rest of his life. Alden was a pet lover, he loved fishing, working on puzzles, and coloring. Most of all he enjoyed his family.
He is survived by his daughters: Mynde (Robert) Ingraham of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Melissa (Eric) Williams of Boise, Idaho, Tiffany (Brian) Pokorney of Caldwell, Idaho; Sons: Tyson (Nancy) Rice of Grantsville, Utah, Timothy (Rachael) Rice of West Jordon, Utah, and Eric Rice of Midvale, Utah; 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
A Celebration of Life and Luncheon will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the LDS Church at 1860 Kearney Idaho Falls.
