August 18, 1944 – January 21, 2025
Alice Faye Orner Absher, 80, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully with her daughters and her brother Frank and his wife by her side on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the Gables of Ammon Assisted Living. She was under the care of Aspen Hospice.
Alice was born on August 18, 1944, in Pocatello, Idaho to Philip Frank Orner and Uteave Quinton. She grew up in Oregon, Pocatello, and Idaho Falls. Alice attended Idaho Falls High School and proudly achieved her GED in 1985.
She married Lynwood Spencer Absher on August 31, 1962, in Pocatello, Idaho. They later divorced, and Lynwood passed away on January 28, 2016.
Alice lived in Pocatello, Oregon, Idaho Falls, Denver, and California. She worked at Papa Paul's Café in Pocatello, the Branding Iron, North Highway Café, Mitchell's, and the DOE in Idaho Falls. She also worked for Samsonite in Colorado and Montgomery Wards in California. Alice loved working as a waitress and all her customers she met over the years.
She loved to paint and do needlework, especially embroidery work. Alice could sew almost anything she put her mind to. She loved to travel, especially to the Oregon Coast, and loved to dance and work in her flower garden.
Alice is survived by her daughters: LaShell (Paul) Morgan of Idaho Falls and Roxanne (Randy) Walton of Shelley; her sisters: Mary Taucha of Chubbuck, Uteave (Adolf) Perez of Idaho Falls, Rose (Dan) Armstrong of Rigby; her brothers: Frank (Concha) Orner of Firth, Richard Orner of Ucon, and James (Blanca) Orner of Pocatello; 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Uteave Orner; sister, Judy Acosta; and two infant brothers: Albert and Robert Orner.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Coltrin condolences may be sent to the family at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
