Allen Henry Kaiser, 79, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at his home. He was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice. He was born on June 2, 1930, to Anthony Carl and Lois Louise Parsons Kaiser in Athens, Wisconsin. Following his birth they then moved to Driggs, Idaho, where his father owned a cheese factory. His brother, James Frank, was born in Jackson, Wyoming in 1932. The family lived in various areas in Southeastern Idaho including the Pahsimeroi Valley, Darlington, Firth, and finally settling in Idaho Falls. Allen attended and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1948. During his junior year he joined the Army National Guard. He married Muriel Aileen Obrey in Idaho Falls on April 1, 1950. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on June 18, 1964. They had three children. Allen served in the Korean War with the 116th Battalion. During this time his first daughter was born. He worked for Saving Center, Clover Club, and Nalley's where he consistently won sales achievement awards. In 1964, Allen and Muriel started their own business on the North Yellowstone Highway, Northway Sports. They operated this business until 1975. During these years he sponsored a city basketball team and a Little League baseball team. In 1976, he founded Northway Consignment and Paint Shop which he operated for several years. In 1990, he went to Boise and started Northway Storage. He retired in 1992. After retiring, Allen and Muriel drove several times across the United States and through many of the National Parks. In recent years, he enjoyed meeting at McDonalds with his coffee buddies. Allen and Muriel celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on March 6th. They were surrounded by family at their home due to his illness. Allen is survived by his wife Muriel of Idaho Falls; children, Kathy (Gary) Johnson of Boise, Idaho, Vickie (Hank Tabeling) Kaiser of St. Augustine, Florida, and Jeffery Allen (Leona) Kaiser of Idaho Falls; 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Allen was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. Idaho Falls.
