Obituary

Allyson Rae Layton, 61, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

She was born on April 28, 1965, in Arcadia, California, to James Nycum and Ginger Allison Nycum. At the age of four, she was adopted by Michael Budinich.

Allyson was a devoted Christian who found joy in fishing, camping, riding Harleys, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a special love for animals, particularly her lizards and dogs, and was known for her compassion toward all creatures.

Above all, Allyson cherished her children and grandchildren. Her family was the center of her life, and her animals were loved as if they were her own children. She was a kind and caring soul who welcomed everyone with warmth and acceptance. Her smile brought comfort to those who were struggling, and her loving spirit touched many lives. Allyson had a gift for making people feel seen, loved, and accepted, and many considered her family regardless of blood relation.

Allyson is survived by her children: daughters, Kirsti (Johnny) Layton of Idaho Falls and Chelsi Layton of Boise, Idaho; sons: Vincent (Lali) Layton of Idaho Falls and Joshua Oniel of Idaho Falls. She is also survived by her parents, James Nycum of California and Ginger and Mike Budinich of Arizona; her siblings, Heather (Doug) Kirton of Washington, Sandi (Shane) Oniel of Idaho Falls, Scott (Lisa) Budinich of Washington; and her adoptive mother, Billie Oneil of Idaho Falls. She leaves behind 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held on June 15, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Westbank Convention Center, 525 River Parkway, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83402.
