Almira Cole Richardson, 94, of Ammon, passed away peacefully November 19, 2009, in her home surrounded by family. She was born June 15, 1915 in Arimo (Marsh Center), Idaho to Robert E. Cole and Almira Jane Cutler. She attended school in Arimo, Idaho graduating from high school in 1934. She graduated from the University of Idaho Southern Branch in Pocatello in Elementary Education and taught school in Mound Valley, Idaho. She found joy in her family and being a homemaker. She married Clawson Clarence Richardson on September 17, 1937, in the Salt Lake Temple. They enjoyed 72 years together. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Relief Society, Young Women, and the Primary. She served with her husband in the Idaho Falls Temple as an officiator for more than 20 years. Almira enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She was exceptionally organized in her home and in her life. She was a peacemaker and worked to have a good relationship with those around her. In her later years, she took pleasure in riding her three-wheeled bicycle around Ammon with her husband. Survivors include her husband, Clawson, of Ammon; sons, Wendell (Karla) Richardson of Ammon, Idaho and Grant (Susan) Richardson of Ammon, Idaho; son-in-law, Harlan Clayton of Ucon, Idaho; 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson; as well as two sisters, Merna Olsen of Arimo, Idaho and Eva Croshaw of Antioch, California. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and three sisters; a daughter, Dorothy Richardson Clayton; and granddaughter, Rebecca Richardson. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at the Ammon 6th Ward LDS Church Building, 2150 Avocet Drive, with Bishop Cam Payne officiating. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the services and on Sunday, Nov. 22, at Coltrin Mortuary from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
