Alta Bernice Green Steffler, 88, of Idaho Falls, died May 30, 2011 at Hebgen Lake, Montana. She was born in Shelley, Idaho to Zaven and Bernice Nora Jeffery Green. She grew up in Firth and attended Firth High School. She married John Steffler on May 14, 1941 in Idaho Falls. After getting married they farmed for 5 years in the Shelley-Firth area. They then moved to the Hebgen Lake- West Yellowstone area and started a fishing resort (Lake View Cabins) on Hebgen Lake. They retired from the fishing resort in 1974 and then moved to Moses Lake Washington. Alta was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Alta loved to dance, play pinochle or games. She also loved to go fishing when there was free time at the resort. She is survived by Son, Elvone (Betty) Steffler of Iona Son, Darwin (Pam) Steffler of West Yellowstone, Montana Son, Doren Steffler (Scott Moats) of La Mesa, California Son, Rory (Eva) Steffler of Kennewick, Washington Sister, Ethel Hadden of Idaho Falls 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren 1 great-great-grandchild She was preceded in death by her parents, Zaven and Bernice Green; husband, John Steffler; children, David Steffler, and Annette Kozlik; brothers, Volney Green, and Ernest Green. Memorial Services will be held at 11a.m. Friday, July 1, 2011 at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. Idaho Falls, with Bishop Steve Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice.
