Obituary

After a full life of 93 years, Anetha Lillian Robinson Gibbs went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, November 30, 2006 at the Gables Assisted Living Center in Ammon, Idaho. Anetha was born on January 27, 1913 in Beenham, New Mexico. She was one of five children born to Ira & Esther Robinson. Her parents had a cattle ranch near Clayton, New Mexico and she attended school in Clayton. She graduated from West High School in Denver, Colorado in 1932.

Anetha was married to James Alton Gibbs of Mt. Dora, New Mexico on December 23, 1931. They had three sons, Elmo Alton Gibbs, Rolin Ira Gibbs, and Ancil Everett Gibbs. The family lived in Mt. Dora, New Mexico; Clayton, New Mexico; Amarillo, Texas; Roswell, New Mexico; and Denver, Colorado.

Anetha was a loving wife & mother all her life, and also was an accomplished seamstress and worked at May D & F in Denver for many years demonstrating and selling sewing machines & clothing goods. She loved sewing things for her children, and grandchildren, and especially in her later years enjoyed doing the plastic canvas kind of craft. Her favorite pastime was getting together with friends to play a game of cards or dominoes. Her cooking was superb and many times she was asked for a copy of the recipe for the food that she had prepared to serve at get-togethers with family & friends. Her grandchildren adored her, she was the best!!

Anetha and her husband were members of the San Jacinto United Methodist church in Amarillo, TX. After her husband passed away in 1988 Anetha moved to Idaho Falls, ID to be closer to her youngest son Ancil & wife, Shirley Gibbs, and their two children. She lived there until her untimely death.

Anetha is survived by one sister, Naomi Mapelli, of Denver, Colorado; and two of her three sons and their families, Elmo Alton Gibbs (Gloria) of Vancouver, WA; and Ancil Everett Gibbs (Shirley) of Idaho Falls, ID. Anetha is also survived by seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters, Margaret Wilbur and Saraetta Lewis and her brother, Stuart Robinson. Her second son Rolin Ira Gibbs (Donna) also preceded her in death.

Inurnment will be at a later date in Dimmit, Texas where she will be reunited with the love of her life.
