Mrs. Angy Sorensen, passed away on March 6, 2012. She was born in Round Up, Montana, on November 7, 1926, to Mario and Julia Gloder. She received her early education in Round Up, where she graduated from high school. She spent four summers working in Yellowstone National Park. She later moved to Idaho Falls, where she met her husband, Richard "Dick" Sorensen, in 1947. They were married on June 21, 1947. Angy was a devoted wife and mother to her family. Her special joys were her grandchildren, Nick and Roy. She enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, oil paintings and bridge. She loved cooking for her family. Her funniest moment was at Thanksgiving, when she was ready to carve the turkey, she noticed a black spot on the breast. Since she didn't want the family to eat a turkey with cancer, she quickly prepared a meal out of hamburger. Later, her mother-in-law, Lucille Sorensen, figured out the spot was the giblet that were left in the turkey. Family reunions were always a great joy for Angy. She made sure no one went home hungry. She and Dick loved square dancing for many years. Angy also never missed a chance to play bridge. They spent winters in Pahrump, Nevada, for 15 years. Angy retired from the Idaho Department Store in 1986, after giving them 15 good years. Angy is survived by her children, Lynn Sorensen (Jan) of Reno, Nevada, Terry Sorensen (Donna) of Corpus Chrisit, Texas, and Kevin Sorensen of Idaho Falls; and two grandchildren: Nick and Roy Sorensen of Reno, Nevada. Her sisters: Laura Clark (John) of Butte, Montana, and Rose Beckwith (John) of Anthiock, California. Angy was preceded in death by her parents, Mario and Julia Gloder, and her husband, Richard "Dick" Sorensen. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2012, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, with Bishop Randy Hoffman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Interment will be at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
