Anna Margaret Berrett passed away peacefully in her sleep September 7, 2009, at the home of her daughter, Trudy Ross, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born to Arthur John and Anna Hansen Maher on April 4, 1921, in Los Angeles, California. She was orphaned at the age of 5 and was reared by her Uncle Hyrum and Aunt Caroline Johnson in Roberts, Idaho. She attended the Roberts schools, and graduated from high school in 1937. In 1941, she married Don Aaron Berrett in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She worked beside him on the farm, and dropped whatever she was doing to drive with him on farm business. Following Don's retirement, they enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad, going to Australia, Hong Kong, Thailand, India, Singapore, Europe and Mexico. Anna was a talented writer, working as a reporter for the Eastern Idaho Farmer newspaper before her marriage and for many years after her marriage. She loved music, singing with Don and in groups, and accompanied Don's quartet and Karla Bee's trio for years. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in numerous ward and stake auxiliary callings; she especially loved her stake Primary calling. She served a mission to the Spain Madrid mission as well as serving in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple and in the Spanish extraction program. She is survived by her 11 children: Karla Sedillo of Springville, Utah; Brooks of Salt Lake City, Utah; Joel (Karela) of Roosevelt, Utah; Trudy (Lew) Ross of Salt Lake City, Utah; Gene' of Salt Lake City; Melanie (Michael) Egerer and Kelly both of Potomac Falls, Virginia; Cliff of Las Vegas, Nevada; Lark (Ryan) Hobley of Clinton, Utah; Kirk of Salt Lake City; and Lorelie (Carson) Judd of Rollins, Montana. Don brought two daughters to the marriage, Illona Stevenson of South Weber, Utah, and Dee (Monte) Maynard of Riverton, Utah; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and son-in-law, Frank Sedillo. Thanks to Trudy and Lew Ross, Kirk Berrett, Tracy Berrett and Lark Hobley for the loving care they gave Anna. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 12, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Roberts LDS Ward Chapel. The family will visit with friends Friday evening at the Roberts LDS Ward from 6 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Missionary Fund or Perpetual Education Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
