IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Arene
Clark
June 16, 1938 – March 28, 2017
The sweetest angel has joined heavens ranks. Our beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, and Friend, Janice Arene Clark died Tuesday , March 28, 2017 at the Life Care Center of Idaho. Arene was born June 16, 1938 to Hazen Peacock and LaVon Johnson. She was the only child of that union.
When her parents divorced, Arene lived with her Mother in Idaho Falls. Both Parents later remarried and Arene was blessed with two sets of step-brothers and sisters whom she loved and they loved her.
Arene attended school in Victor, and Driggs, Idaho. She graduated from Teton High School in May 1956. The graduating class was small and friendships were close. Upon graduation Arene moved to Idaho Falls. Later, she moved to Oregon nearer to where her father and siblings lived.
After four years in Oregon she returned to Idaho Falls where she worked at the AEC-Site, and later met the love of her life Hudson P. Clark. They married October 5, 1962 and moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Hudson's boyhood home. There they raised their son Kevin. Arene loved being a mother. Arene and Hudson were both employed by Philips Petroleum for over 25 years. In retirement, they traveled the country in their motorhome and enjoyed several cruises at sea.
Over the course of her life, Arene met many health challenges, but was always determined to overcome them. At the age of 30 she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She extensively studied the disease and implemented a diet and exercise program that significantly prolonged her life and amazed her doctors. With renewed strength Arene and Hudson joined a ballroom dance team, where they competed and won many awards. During this time Arene was diagnosed but ultimately won her fight with breast cancer. Later in life as her health and mobility declined she moved to an assisted living center in Bartlesville. Eventually, she was moved to a care facility in Idaho Falls to be near family. The care-givers in each facility nicknamed her "The Energizer Bunny," as she always just kept going. There she enjoyed simple pleasures such as, sunny days, beautiful red cardinals, watching DWTS, ice cream, and visits with Kevin. Throughout her life, Arene was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was thrilled the day she was able to fully attend the Tulsa, Oklahoma Temple.
She is now in Heaven to dance once again with her eternal partner, Hudson who passed in August 2007.
Arene was additionally preceded in death by her Mother LaVon and Father Hazen.
She is survived by her Son Kevin Clark of Tulsa, Oklahoma, siblings Blake Daniels (Linda) of Salt Lake City, Utah, Deena Mann (Alan) of Salt Lake City, Utah, Kurt Daniels (Shelly) of Tetonia, Idaho, Lana Gober of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Mike Peacock of Portland, Oregon, Jerilyn Blofsky (Lonnie) of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Kim Peacock of Salem, Oregon and Step-Mother Joan Peacock Portland, Oregon.
