Arliss (Art) Wayne Leonardson, loving father and grandfather, passed away of natural causes in Idaho Falls, ID in the early morning of Tuesday, May 18, 2021.

Art was born on July 7, 1936, in Idaho Falls to Charles Wayne Leonardson and Mary Ester Lent. He studied accounting and marketing at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT, and worked in agricultural sales for the majority of his life. He was married to Donna Mae Riding and together they had 8 children. He later married Emelia Grancapal and together they had two children.

Art was known for his quick wit and charm. He was an avid fisherman and shared this love with anyone who would join him, on the rivers of Montana or long fishing trips to Alaska. He loved music and dancing, often joking that his children should start a family band. He enjoyed time spent with his family exploring the wilderness, watching basketball or football together. He worked hard and played hard and he taught his children to do the same.

He is survived by his children: Diana Kirkham of Idaho Falls, ID, Jacqueline (Pat) Kennedy of Mission Viejo, CA, Alane (Lamont) McMurtrey of Superior, CO, Charles Leonardson of Blackfoot, ID, Russell Leonardson of Salt Lake City, UT, Andrea (Alan) Atkinson of Preston, ID, Katherine (Jeremy) Smith of Clearfield, Utah, and Karen (Jakob) Brown of Missoula, MT. Art will also be forever remembered by his 28 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and two sons: Douglas Leonardson and Matthew Leonardson.

Graveside Services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the Dubois Cemetery in Dubois, ID. Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Condolences may be sent online at www.coltrinmortuary.com .
