Obituary

Artell Richins Rowberry Dalling, 88, of Idaho Falls, returned to her heavenly home on Thursday, December 18, 2014. Artell was born on February 14, 1926, in Park City, Utah, to Fred Roy Richins and Barbara Van Vleet. She grew up and attended school in Idaho, where she graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1945. She enjoyed participating in drama and choral programs as well as graduating from Seminary. Her high school class was a very special class and continued holding reunions every year since graduation. Artell treasured many long lasting friendships from her high school years. She worked at the City Floral Shop for 40 years, where she was taught the art of floral design by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Holmgren. During WWII she made corsages from savings stamps to help support the war effort. Artell met and married Max Rowberry after his return from military service on July 8, 1947, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were parents to two sons, Mick and David. Max passed away on December 17, 1982. On November 23, 1984, she married John L Dalling in the Idaho Falls Temple, creating a wonderful blended family. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many positions including: serving 2 stake missions, Relief Society President, MIA Speech Director, Stake Activities Director, Sunday School and Primary teacher, Merit Badge Counselor, received the Extra Mile Award in Scouting, and as an ordinance worker in the Idaho Falls Temple for 30 years with her husband John. Artell was a very energetic, service-loving, religious, talented lady. She kept an immaculate yard and was a fabulous cook and florist, sharing her talents with all. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, John Dalling, of Idaho Falls, Idaho Her son, Mick (Rena) Rowberry, of Blackfoot, Idaho Her son, David (Janis) Rowberry, of Durban, South Africa Her son, Ken (Bobbi) Dalling, of Idaho Falls, Idaho Her daughter, Joanne Staley, of Idaho Falls, Idaho Her brother, Earl (Susan) Richins, of Dothan, Alabama Her sister, Juanita Williams, of Idaho Falls, Idaho Her sister, Bonnie Jean Massengale, of Dothan, Alabama 28 grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her first husband, G. Max Rowberry, her brother , Roy Richins, and her sister, Marguerite Richins. The family would like to give a special thanks to Lynn Smith and David Fry for the loving care they gave to Artell and John. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 22, 2014, at the Idaho Falls 18th LDS Ward Chapel, 1200 Dunbar Drive, Idaho Falls, Idaho. The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2014, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
