Arthur "Mike" Ackerschott, 80, of Idaho Falls, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.
Mike was born on May 10, 1943, in Anaconda, Montana to David Converse Ackerschott and Minnie Rose Scalise Ackerschott. Mike grew up in Butte, Montana, and graduated from Butte High School in June 1961. He served in the United States Navy.
On October 3, 1964, he married Patricia Margaret Hintz in Helena, Montana. He worked for the Anaconda Company in Butte, Montana for over 20 years. In 1981, they moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho where he went to work for Westinghouse at the INEL for 27 years as an Ironworker.
Mike was a member of the Catholic Church and The Knights of Columbus. He was a past Exalted Ruler of The Elks Lodge and past worthy President of the local Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and he loved his fur babies.
Mike is survived by his wife, Patricia Ackerschott, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his sons: David (Angela) Ackerschott of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Joseph (Brandy) Ackerschott of Pocatello, Idaho, and Shane (Bekah) Ackerschott of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his daughter, Candace (David) Clark of Blackfoot, Idaho; his sister, Shellie (Terry) Hanekan, of Butte; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, and two brothers.
No services will be held. Cremation was under the care of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls.
