Obituary

Arvil Edwin Daw, 95, of Idaho Falls, died July 4, 2007, at his home.

He was born September 18, 1911, to Charles Fredrick Daw and Clara Smith Daw in Shelley, Idaho. Arvil was one of ten children. After his father died in 1930, Arvil took over the responsibilities of the farm and helped his mother for many years.

On Sept. 1, 1939, he married Nola Thompson in St. Anthony, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

They lived in Osgood for many years, where they farmed. They then moved to the Blackfoot area where they resided for several years before moving to Apple Valley, California. Since 1976, they resided in Idaho Falls.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved and cared for his family. He enjoyed creating children's play equipment, learning and playing golf and he was the inventor of the Jump-a-roo.

Survivors include his children: Deanna (Doug) Andrus of Las Vegas, Nevada; Dallas Daw of Idaho Falls; Evelyn Young of Blackfoot; Sherry (Ray) Couch of Rexburg; Spencer (Sharon) Daw of Oak Hills, California; Kathleen (Richard) Wray of Rexburg; Renee (Seth) Callister of Idaho Falls; Rena (Mic) Rowberry of Blackfoot; Randall (April) Daw of Woods Cross, Utah; Debra (Garth) Oakey of Pahrump, Nevada and Rexburg; Kendell Daw of Aguana, California; and Rebecca (Lorin) Mortensen of Smithfield, Utah; 66 grandchildren; 131 great-grandchildren; brothers: Deloy Daw of Idaho Falls and Donald (Esther) Daw of Jerome and a sister, Marjorie (Cyp) Gentillion of Pingree.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nola; a daughter and son-in-law, Shanna and Greg Smith; a daughter-in-law, LaRue Porter Daw; a son-in-law, Steve Ciccone; a grandson, Brian Andrus; two brothers, four sisters, and a great-grandson, Houston Murdock.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2007, at the Idaho Falls LDS North Stake Center, 955 Memorial Drive with Bishop Kevin Hathaway officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, and at the church Monday one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery.
