Barbara June Nelson Tracy Atteberry, 67, of Idaho Falls, died March 23, 2008 in Lake Wales, Florida.
She was born June 22, 1940 in Idaho Falls to Joseph Elmer and Ina Leona Byrne Nelson. Barbara grew up on the farm in Tetonia and in St. Anthony, Idaho. She attended Teton High School in Driggs, Idaho and later earned her GED. She also graduated from a beauty school in Idaho Falls.
She married Burdett Tracy on June 15, 1960 in Idaho Falls. They were later divorced. She married William Atteberry on June 6, 1992.
She lived in Idaho Falls where she raised her family. She moved to Pocatello, Idaho in 1985 and returned to Idaho Falls in 2004.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She was involved in the Garden Club, Meals on Wheels, and the Art Guild. She enjoyed painting, needlepoint, and gardening, but she was best known for her irises, and was an active participant in the Annual Pocatello Iris Show.
The value of a wonderful mother cannot be measured only treasured.
She is survived by her husband William Atteberry of Idaho Falls; 2 daughters, Kathy Allen (Don) of Idaho Falls, and Audrey Nelson of Idaho Falls; 4 sons, Michael Tracy (Laura) of Idaho Falls, Rodney Tracy of Idaho Falls, Dennis Tracy (Diana) of West Point, Utah, and Travis Tracy (Debbie) of Idaho Falls; one step-son, William "Billy" Atteberry (Missy) of Contrell, Illinois; 4 brothers, Glen Nelson (Bonnie) of Tetonia, Idaho, Dale Nelson (Julie) of Cornelius, Oregon, Norman Nelson (Donna) of Wentachee, Washington, John Darwin Nelson of Wenatchee, Washington; 3 sisters; Elaine Hill (Robert) of Provo, Utah, Joanne Roberts (Barry) of Teton, Idaho, and Eva Palmer (Laird) of Parker, Idaho; 14 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, her brother Reed, and her sister Peggy.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2008, at the Willowcreek Ward LDS Chapel, 6925 N. 15th E. Idaho Falls with Bishop Heber Andrus officiating.
