She was born December 10, 1928 in Pocatello, Idaho, to John Raymond and LaVon Jones Beeton. She grew up in Palm Springs, California, and Pocatello, Idaho. She attended Pocatello High School and graduated from Palm Springs High School in 1947. She married Orval Bailey on August 21, 1947, in St. Anthony, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He died April 10, 1987.
Barbara lived her adult life in Idaho Falls where she worked with Orval at Old Faithful Beverage for 25 years. They also had a grocery delivery business and Barbara worked at Burger King.
Barbara was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, and singing in the ward choir.
She is survived by daughters: Karen Lee Nelson (Keith) of Idaho Falls, Karolyne Barbara Johnson (Dave) of St. George, Utah, Kristina Rae Burnside (Randy) of Idaho Falls, Kay Lynn Hinkle (Gene) of Boise, Idaho; a son, Kenneth Orval Bailey of Idaho Falls; and daughter, Kelley Ann Deming (Dave) of Hillsboro, Oregon with 21 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Orval and 2 grandsons, Brian Nelson, and Tommy Loftus.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Ammon Cemetery, in Ammon, Idaho. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:30-1:30 prior to the service at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. in Idaho Falls.
