She married Thomas John Summers January 5, 1942, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Bardenia enjoyed being a mother to her six children: Thomas John (Merna) Summers Jr., Charles (Janet) Summers, Ralph (Mid) Summers, Forrest (Sharie) Summers, Annette (Marshall) Egan, Pamela (Stan) Benson, and grandmother to 30 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren. With her passing on February 6, 2007, at the age of 87, she is reunited with her husband, Thomas John Summers; her son, Ralph; her parents, Victoria Briggs Green and Lester Green; her two sisters, Elsie Inglebretsen and Lucille Nielsen; and her brother, Bert Green.

Bardenia was a very active and dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings. A highlight in her life was when she was able to serve two missions: one in Oakland and another one in San Diego.

At the age of 81, she returned to college and received her Bachelor's Degree at BYU. Her heart has always been filled with a love for music. She played the violin with the Idaho Falls Symphony for five years.

Funeral services will be at 12 Noon Saturday, February 10, 2007, at the Ririe Stake Center, 14061 N. 130 E., in Ririe with Bishop Robert Johnson officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2007, at the Ririe Stake Center, and Saturday one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls.
