Bart Allen Smith, 53, of Idaho Falls, passed away on September 17, 2012, at his home. He was born in Lewiston, Idaho, to Robert J and Luana B. Smith on December 5, 1958, the youngest of five children. Shortly after Bart was born, the family moved back to Iona, where Bart attended school, church, played sports and graduated from Bonneville High School. Bart loved to hunt, fish, golf, and bowl. As a family they were avid skiers and loved to snowmobile. He coached baseball and football and was a sports officiator. But, Bart's favorite past time was following his brother, John L's, college football teams where ever he was coaching and of course, following his nephew, Alex Smith's NFL career at the 49ers. Bart's pride and joy has been his son, Skylar, and his granddaughter, Brinly. At the time of his death, Bart was working at TMC Construction as an equipment operator. Bart was preceded in death by his parents, Robert J and Luana B. Smith. He is survived by his son, Skylar, granddaughter, Brinly; and siblings: Dick, John, Doug and Janet. A Celebration of Bart's Life will be held Friday September 21st at 1:00 pm at Calvary Chapel, 4250 S 25th E, Idaho Falls, ID. Please join the family for lunch following the service.
