Obituary

Bernard "Bernie" Lamont Christofferson, 53, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away Friday, June 26, 2009, at his home of natural causes.

Bernie was born February 15, 1956, in Concord, California, to LaMont "Monte" H. and Shirley J. Christofferson, the oldest of four children. He attended Bonneville High School in Idaho Falls. He was married to Ronda Lewis and adopted her son, Nashawn "Shawn" David Christofferson. They were later divorced.

At the time of his death, he owned and operated Christofferson Landscape Maintenance and was a salesman for Hallmark Exterior. In the off-season, he worked as a carpenter and framer.

He was a member of the LDS Church. His hobbies included going fishing with family and friends, camping, hiking, and helping take care of his sister's cows and the Broken Bit Arena.

Survivors include his son, Shawn (Joanne) Christofferson; two grandsons of Pocatello; sisters: Tennie (Kirk) Hansen, Deena Christofferson, Renee (Butch) Walsh; step-sister, LaWana (Mike) Mencke; 2 step-brothers, Darryl (Corinne) Klucksdal and Darnel Klucksdal; 12 nieces and nephews; all of the Idaho Falls area.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, July 3, 2009, from 6-8:00 p.m. with a dedication to Bernie at 7:00 p.m. at the home of his sister, Tennie Hansen, 6992 N. 5 E. Idaho Falls, Idaho, located just 2 miles north of Highway 20 on the Lewisville Highway.
