Obituary

Beth Maxine Beazer Ryan was born on October 13, 1919, to Irving M. Beazer and Phoebe Scholes, in Lorenzo, Idaho, in the home that now is part of Krupp Scout Hollow.  She was the oldest of seven children, four of whom preceded her in death: Wendell Beazer, Richard Beazer, Merle Beazer Munns, and Gaylen Beazer.

Beth graduated from Rigby High School in 1937 and attended Ricks College. She moved to Idaho Falls and began working at Sutton's Grocery, where she met Jack Ryan.  They corresponded while he was in the South Pacific during World War II, and were married March 11, 1946.

Six children were born to Beth and Jack. They lived in Lincoln where Jack worked in the sugar factory in the winter and during the summer he ran a dry farm in the hills south of Ririe.  In 1963, Beth and Jack were divorced.  Beth returned to work, eventually becoming the office manager at the LDS Employment agency, from which she retired in 1984.

Beth then served a full-time mission for the Church, serving in the Boston Massachusetts Mission, with much of her time spent in New Hampshire.  Missionary work remained a love for her ever since.  She remained active, raising a vegetable garden, braiding rag rugs, and going camping.  She loved being outdoors and having a campfire. She also enjoyed traveling to visit her children and their families.

She was always active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served faithfully in the Primary, Young Women, and with the Singles group.

Beth is survived by two siblings: Beverly Olsen of Idaho Falls, and Albert (Marcia) Beazer of Providence, Utah; and her six children: Terry Ryan, of Idaho Falls; Kim (Ida), of Idaho Falls; Steve Ryan, of LaBelle; Rosemary (Kevin) Bailey, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Kathleen (Robert) Westover, of Clearfield, Utah; and Jeannine (Mark) Groethe, of Las Vegas, Nevada; 26 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 20, 2017, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the mortuary.
