It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sara Beth Truitt McDaniel, age 69, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, who passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Beth was born on April 22, 1955, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Thomas and Beverly Midgley Truitt. She grew up in Salt Lake City, graduating from East High School in 1973. Beth fell in love and married Alvin McDaniel on February 16, 1979. Beth and Alvin enjoyed a musical and adventurous life together in Idaho Falls. They worked together in their computer business for many years. They were quite creative in their many projects.

While Beth was a devoted daughter, sister, and friend, she truly flourished as a mother and grandmother. She was the proud mother of five sons; Shawn, Paul, Jeff, Steve, and James, and grandmother of six grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply.

Beth was known for her exceptional talent and passion for quilting and crafting. She became a master quilter over the years, creating numerous beautiful quilts that her family will treasure for generations.

In addition to quilting, Beth was highly skilled in many other crafts, including sewing and scrapbooking. Her attention to detail and passion were evident in every project she undertook, no matter how large or small. She also enjoyed flower gardening, collecting, and dollhouse building. She and Alvin shared a deep love for the outdoors. They often enjoyed trips to Yellowstone National Park with their family.

Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She adored every moment spent with them, sharing stories and creating treasured memories that they will carry with them forever. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of kindness and selflessness will live on in the hearts of her family.

Beth is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin McDaniel; her son, James McDaniel; her parents, Thomas and Beverly Truitt; and her brother, Tom Truitt. She is survived by her children: Shawn (Candice) McDaniel of Idaho Falls, ID, Paul McDaniel of Idaho Falls, ID, Jeff McDaniel of Boise, ID, and Steve (Marie) McDaniel of St. George, UT; and her grandchildren: Haylee, Dawson, Bella, Steven, Jameson, and Gavin; as well as many dear friends and extended family members.

This week, Beth, Alvin, and James are sharing an amazing reunion, and though we mourn their loss, we take comfort in knowing they are together again.
