Beth Zohner, 90, of Ammon, died on Friday, August 12, 2016, at her home. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.
Beth was born on July 11, 1926, in Provo, Utah, to Leonard and Alvetta Alger Madsen. She grew up in Vineyard, Utah. She attended Utah State University where she earned her Master of Science and Education degree.
She met her true love, Mark J. Zohner, in Teton Valley (Driggs). They were married on August 17, 1948, in Salt Lake City, Utah. They raised their four children there and in 1964, they moved to Ammon, Idaho, where they lived the remainder of their lives. Mark passed away in 2005.
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Beth served in many different positions and enjoyed serving where asked.
Beth taught high school in Teton Valley and in Bonneville School District 93. Her last position was as assistant principle of Bonneville Junior High.
She always found ways to help those in need. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and her pet dogs.
She is survived by her daughters: Connie Z. Lamprecht, and Patricia Z. Lind, both of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her sons: Alan L. (Sydney) Zohner, of Rigby, Idaho, and Ronald M. (Emilie) Zohner, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her brother, Kay (Dina) Madsen, of Orem, Utah; her sister, Kathleen Chai, of Springville, Utah; her care provider, Gera Lee Walker, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Zohner, and her parents, Leonard and Alvetta Madsen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 17, at the Ammon LDS 4th Ward, 4375 E. Sunnyside, with Bishop Eric Bodily officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 16, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at the Cedron Cemetery in Victor, Idaho.
