Obituary

Betty Flint-Rapp, 92, of Idaho Falls our beloved, remarkable mother, passed away Friday, September 21, 2018, surrounded by her sons.

Betty was born February 8, 1926, in Rigby, Idaho to William Gardner Flint and Vera Mary Kite Flint.  She was the second of five children.  Growing up during the depression, she learned to work hard from a very early age working beside her mother and siblings in every venture possible to make ends meet.  She attended schools in Rigby and Dade County Community College in Miami, Florida.

Betty married Mark Rapp on May 14, 1949 in Idaho Falls.  The marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls temple on March 17, 1961.  Betty was blessed to be the mother of two sons.  Motherhood was her greatest joy and the essence of her life.

When her youngest son was a senior in high school, Betty returned to the workforce serving as a Title One remedial math teacher at Dora Erickson Elementary where she touched the lives of hundreds of students with whom she worked.

Betty was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in the Primary for over 30 years teaching every age group and serving in the presidency 9 times along with being the Cub and Blazer scout leader.  She also served in the Relief Society Presidency and as an instructor in the Relief Society.  In her later years she served as the building librarian.   Her life was one of constant and devoted service and inspiration to others.

Betty loved to travel and with her son, Rodd. They were able to see much of the world.  She also enjoyed music, quilting, decorating her home, and making her yard beautiful.

She is survived by her children: Russ Rapp (Bonna) of Twin Falls, Idaho; Rodd Rapp of Idaho Falls; special niece, Colleen Salmonsen of Idaho Falls; sister, JoAnn Rice of Meridian, Idaho; brothers: Leland Flint and Gard Flint of Rigby, Idaho; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
