Obituary

Betty Louella Hansen, 92, of Idaho Falls, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025, at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was under the care of Mission Home Health and Hospice of Idaho Falls.

Betty was born on August 8, 1932, in Jonesborough, Tennessee to Roy Harvey Rash and Irma Lucille Fonnesbeck Rash. She grew up in Thermopolis, Wyoming. She graduated from High School in Casper, Wyoming in 1950.

On July 2, 1949, Betty Married Patrick Boylan in Thermopolis, Wyoming. They enjoyed traveling all over the world while Pat worked in the oil fields. They welcomed a daughter, Dyan, into their family on August 3, 1954, in McLaughlin, South Dakota. Betty joked that she was born on an Indian reservation with the help of a "one-eyed witch doctor". They settled in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and opened a business where she worked alongside Pat until they divorced. She later married Niels Hansen in 1966, she worked in his podiatry office until his passing. As a widow, she worked at JC Penny until her retirement.

She enjoyed the simple things in life, she was always taking care of loved ones. She enjoyed gardening, painting, and spending time with her family, but her true joy was her two great-granddaughters.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Dyan LePage of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her grandson, Patrick LePage; her granddaughter, Lindsey (Alan) Guymon of Rigby, Idaho: great-granddaughters: Liberty Guymon and Paige Guymon both of Rigby, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents: Lucille and Roy Rash; her sisters: Beatrice Hamilton and Anne Jennings; and her brother, Joe Rash.

A private family graveside will be held at a later date. Cremation is under the care of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Condolences may be sent online to www.coltrinmortuary.com.
