Surrounded by her family, Betty Jane Stanek of Idaho Falls, passed away just before midnight on Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Lincoln Court at the age of 90. She was born on January 4, 1922, in Riverside, California, to Carl Swanguen and Edna Hall Swanguen. She grew up and attended schools in California. She later moved to Nevada and then about 1994, she moved to Idaho Falls. Betty lived a full and wonderful life. She raised two special daughters that thought the world of her, and counted their blessings each day that they were lucky enough to have the greatest mother any daughters could have. Her legacy will live on for generations through her daughters and their children and their children. She loved her family very much. She is survived by her daughters: Diane (Duke), and Cathy (Doug McGiffin); her grandchildren: Jason (Michelle McGiffin), Michelle (Duke), Matthew (Jen Duke), and Chad (Cassie McGiffin), as well as many great-grand children who will all miss her, but who all know that she is in a better place, and will be waiting for them on the other side.
