Obituary

Beverly Ann Crouch, 89, of Idaho Falls, died Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Morningstar Assisted Living. She was under the care of One Source Hospice.

Beverly was born on Christmas Eve of 1927 in Kemmerer, Wyoming, to Martin and Edna Hayes Botero. She grew up in Rock Springs, Wyoming, and attended the University of Wyoming where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She later attended Idaho State University where she received her Bachelor of Arts and a Master's degree in Education Administration.

On June 4, 1950, she married John Pershing Crouch. John and Beverly moved to Idaho Falls in 1955 where they raised their three children and built a wonderful life for their family.

Beverly loved children and teaching and had a long and distinguished career in education. She taught at Lowell Elementary School in Rock Springs, and at Longfellow, Templeview and Erickson Elementary schools in Idaho Falls. Beverly also served as the President of the Idaho Falls Education Association. She eventually became the principal of Longfellow Elementary and moved on to become the principal of Eagle Rock Junior High School. She capped off her career by serving for ten years as the Director of Elementary Education for School District 91.

In addition to her work as an educator, Beverly spent countless hours in service to the community of Idaho Falls as a member of the United Way Board of Directors where she was awarded an honorary life membership for her outstanding work. She also lent her time and talents to other community organizations like the March of Dimes, Easter Seals, the Chamber of Commerce Vocational Education Committee and many more.

Her husband and parents as well as her sister Melba Riley of Sandy, Utah, and her brother Paul Botero of Idaho Falls, preceded Beverly in death. She is survived by her children Michaelena Hix (Randy) of Idaho Falls, Brian Crouch (Cheryl) of Idaho Falls and Megan Crouch of Newport Beach, California. She is also survived by her dear sister Joan Bithell of Idaho Falls, and her beloved grandchildren Malina Daw, Ben Hix, Whitney Daw, Keith Draper, Mallory Lamb, Sean Crouch and Cory Crouch, along with 13 beautiful great grandchildren.

The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. A private family service will be held on Wednesday. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.coltrinmortuary.com.

The family wished to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and Hospice nurses of One Source, to the caring and wonderful staff of Morningstar and to her personal physician, Dr. Shane Machen and his staff for all the loving support and care given to our mother and grandmother in recent years.

Beverly's immeasurable love for her family, especially for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and the children she taught over many years is best expressed in her favorite Bible verse, "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not to come unto me, for such is the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 19:14)

We love you Gigi and will miss you dearly.
