Beverly Landgren Waite, the wife of Dr. Willis D. Waite and the mother of Thomas (Gina) and James (Beth) Waite of Idaho Falls, Randy of Springville, Utah; Bill (Clea) of Gilbert, Arizona, passed away at her Idaho Falls home on Friday, November 18, 2011. Beverly was born on March 23, 1924, in Duluth, Minnesota, but lived most of her life in Rockford, Illinois. A viewing will take place at the Coltrin Mortuary, Sunday, November 27, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the West Jordan, Utah, Stake Center on Tuesday, November 29, at 12:00 noon, with her missionary son - Elder Neil L. Anderson presiding. Interment will be in the Hyde Park Cemetery on Wednesday, November 30, at 1:00 p.m. The Waites served five full- time missions in presiding positions in Paris and Metz, France; Lausanne, Switzerland; Brussels, Belgium; and Ivory Coast,West Africa. She was a music major at BYU. While in Africa, she taught 20 Ivorians the piano and featured them in recital. As her husband served for 25 years as a sealer in the Swiss, Chicago, and Jordan River temples, she served faithfully as an ordinance worker. She was an avid genealogist having done thousands of names for her Swedish ancestors. While serving in the Swiss temple, they both learned the temple ordinances in seven languages. She was a champion tennis player for three consecutive years in Rockford, Illinois, where she grew up. She was beloved by all who had the blessing of knowing her. The Waites have made Idaho Falls their home for the past two years and are most grateful for the wonderful friends they have made here.
