He was born May 23, 1937, in Challis, Idaho, to Milton and Martha Schwarting Deschamps. He was raised in Challis and Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School.

He served in the United States Army.

On November 11, 1957, he married Marie Nessen in Nevada. Marie died January 29, 2006.

He lived in Challis, Idaho Falls and Rio Verde, Arizona. He was self employed and owned Ideal Hardware until 2003 when he retired.

He enjoyed golf, hunting, hiking and his grandchildren.

He loved his grand kids more than anything in the world.

Survivors his daughters; Tammy (Kevin) Saxton of Boise, Idaho, and Sue (Randy) Williams of Wellington, Colorado; his sons, Tony (Lisa) Deschamps of Idaho Falls, and Randy (Gail) Deschamps of Rigby; his brother, Rocky (Nancy) Deschamps of Shelley; 9 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother, Jerry Deschamps, and a sister, Jeannie Deschamps.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Taylor Cemetery, Taylor, Idaho. The family suggests donations to Hospice of Eastern Idaho, 1810 Moran Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho, 83401. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.coltrinmortuary.com .
