William Van 'Bill' Deveraux, 79, of Idaho Falls, died Monday, November 6, 2017, at home surrounded by his family. He was under the care of Avalon Home Health and Hospice.

Bill was born on May 29, 1938, to Ernest and Chloie King Deveraux, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He lived in Vale, Oregon for a brief time while he was young. He grew up in Idaho Falls where he attended Idaho Falls High School.

He joined the United States Army National Guard in November 1955 and was honorably discharged in December 1956.

On January 14, 1961, he married Charlene Heston in Elko, Nevada. To this union two children were born.

Bill enjoyed fishing and baseball. His family says he was grouchy but lovable and will be missed by those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene Heston Deveraux of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his son, Mark (Cathy) Deveraux of Rigby, Idaho; his daughter, MiChelle Deveraux of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his grandsons: Tim (Emilee) Deveraux of Rigby, Idaho and Jim Johnson of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and 2 great-granddaughters: Kyah and Madilynn.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Ernest and Chloie Deveraux; his brothers: Kenneth Deveraux and David Deveraux.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 13, 2017, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the mortuary. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
