June 9, 1927 – March 23, 2007
He was born June 9, 1927 in Coltman, Idaho, the son of Arnold Oscar Harris and Mary Margaret Fowler. He grew up and attended schools in Coltman. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was awarded a Honorary High School diploma April 19, 2002, for those World War II Veterans that went into the service before completing high school.
On Oct. 12, 1946, he married Belva Lou Jean Brown in Rigby, Idaho. He worked for Bonneville Lumber, Stoddard Mead Ford, and was the owner of Bill's Car Clean Up. He and his wife, Jean, enjoyed being the campground host/hostess for five years at Big Elk Creek Campground.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He was a supporter and advisor for the Idaho Falls Jr. Posse. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and camping.
He is survived by the following: daughter, Vicky Jean (Dennie) Lowe of Idaho Falls son, Billy Kent (Cindy) Harris of Rigby son, Danny K. (Heather) Harris of Pocatello son, Gary Lee (Sheila) Harris of Idaho Falls 14 grandchildren 17 great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his wife, Belva Lou "Jean" Harris; a son, Kenneth Ray Harris, 4 sisters, and a brother.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at the Sage Lakes Ward Chapel, 1200 Dunbar with Bishop Tadd Jenkins officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2007 at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, and at the church Tuesday one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery with military rites by the Bonneville County Veterans Team.
