Obituary

Blaine W. Lindroth, 87, died May 2, 2018, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, following complications tied to an aortal aneurism. A 20-year veteran of the United States Navy, Chief Petty Officer Lindroth was born and raised in Long Prairie, Minn.

Following an honorable Navy career, the Chief settled in Blackfoot, Idaho, where he owned and managed a local service industry business for seven years. He later accepted employment with the Nonpareil Corporation, retiring after 16 years. However, he hated to slow down, so after retirement, he continued to work part-time in the produce production and real property management fields.

An avid sports fan, the Chief was an ardent, loyal follower of the Minnesota Vikings, and passionate supporter of equine sports. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and spending time with their extensive family.

Chief Petty Officer Lindroth was preceded in death by his parents Clarence (Swede) and Nathalie (Lohrke) Lindroth. He is survived by his wife, Vicki, son Max Lindroth of California; sister Arlene Barrett of Indiana; stepson Justin Stagner, daughter Ann Lindroth Jim (Pat), and son Richard Lindroth of Fort Hall; stepdaughter Wendy Jo Grant-Harden and stepson Wade Grant of Blackfoot; and stepdaughter Debbie Gildea (Brad), of New Braunfels, Texas. He is also succeeded by six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held May 19 at Coltrin Mortuary in Idaho Falls. The family will receive visitors from noon to 1 p.m., and the service will begin at 1. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
