IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Blake Kent
Godfrey
September 20, 2004 – May 29, 2024
Blake Kent Godfrey, 19, passed away at home (which was his favorite place in the entire world) on 5/29/24. His death was unexpected, related to complications from a seizure disorder.
Our favorite guy was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on 9/20/04. He came to us with a larger than life personality which made him well known everywhere he went. To meet him once was to remember him forever.
Blake grew up in Idaho Falls, ID with his family and was a proud Thunder Ridge Titan. He loved being a part of his school and seminary community. He adored school spirit weeks, dressing up, assemblies, and attention from his classmates. The faculty and staff were ranked near the top of his nice list.
Blake's greatest loves in life were his "forever mom" (his words), followed closely by Milk Duds - which he never shared, tools, and long soaks in the tub. He was an absolutely devout follower of Fixer Upper and loved imagining new house floor plans or renovations for his family's home. He also loved everything Disney and would spend the entire day hilariously acting in character after watching a movie. Blake's humor lightened the mood wherever he went and will be desperately missed by all.
Blake was famously sneaky and many of his antics involved literal handfuls of homemade chocolate chip cookies, or snacks from the cupboard. One of his escapades was truly legendary. Blake tricked school staff, snuck out of school, and ran nearly 3 miles home. He cheerfully peeked through the windows of the front door and yelled "Mom! I'm home!" shortly before concerned police officers arrived.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Blake loved Heavenly Father and Jesus so much but sitting quietly through meetings…not so much.
While this has been "Demo Day!" for our hearts, his body is finally healed.
Blake is survived by his parents: Stephanie and Seth Wellard; siblings: Malarie (Caleb) Boone, Brigham Godfrey, Asher and Gray Wellard; nephews: Archer and Kasen Boone; grandparents: L. Kent and Jolene Davies, and Delynn and Karen Wellard, along with countless extended family members who were part of his vast fan club.
Blake was preceded in death by his childhood adoptive father Brian Godfrey; great-grandmother Carol Davies; and great-grandfather Larry Davies.
