Obituary

Bob Ray Sutton, 83, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, April 13, 2015, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Bob was born on November 10, 1931, in Paoli, Oklahoma to Clayton Leon Perry and Lyda Edith Shelby Perry. They were later divorced. His mother married William Henry Sutton who legally adopted Bob in December 1943. He grew up and attended schools in various locations eventually settling in Blackfoot, Idaho where he graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1950. After graduation, Bob joined the United States Navy. He served in the Seabees Battalion during the Korean War. His duty stations were Korea, Guam and Japan. He married the love of his life, Willa Marjean Abbott, on May 27, 1971 in Idaho Falls, ID. On that day he also became an instant father and grandfather of which he was very proud. Bob worked for the Idaho National Laboratory as a Bus Driver for 37 years were he made many lifelong friends. His most enjoyable times were spent at his summer home in Island Park with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other family and friends. Through his life he enjoyed flying planes, boating, water skiing, snow machining and hunting camp every fall. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. We love and will miss you Dad. He is survived by his sister Dorotha Pauliene Sutton of Pocatello; daughter, J. Michelle (Joe) Kennedy of Idaho Falls; sons, S. Scott (Susan) Abbott of Boise; Steve C. (Lori) Abbott of Idaho Falls; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; honorary younger brother, Gary (Vi) Warren of Blackfoot; half-sister Paula Ann (Steel) Casey of Garber, Oklahoma, and a half-brother Chuck (Joyce) Bailey of Kingston, Oklahoma. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, parents and a nephew. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, ID. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to services at the Mortuary. Military rites will be conducted at the service. Interment will follow at the Pineview Cemetery in Ashton, Idaho. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to either the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 or the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL, 33607.
