Obituary

Boyd Leroy Cripps, 79, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died October 8, 2007, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Cedar City, Utah, to Ernest Alonzo and May Joyce Millett Cripps on June 27, 1928. He grew up in Cedar City and San Bernadino, California. He graduated from San Bernadino High School in 1945. He also earned an Associated Degree.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

He married Lucile Stone and they were later divorced. On June 29, 1972, he married Constance Mae Holmes in the Los Angeles California LDS Temple. She died September 16, 2006.

He raised his family in San Diego, California, and Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was a real estate appraiser most of his adult life.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many different positions. He served two missions with his wife to the Saint George Utah LDS Temple and the Saint George Family History Center.

He enjoyed doing genealogy and he had the natural ability to fix just about anything that was broken. One of his favorite accomplishments was the house that he hand built in LaMesa, California.

Boyd was a devoted husband and father who always put family's and friends needs before his own.

He is survived by 2 sons, Larry Cripps of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Jim Cripps of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 2 daughters, Carole (Fred) Schneider of Yukipa, California, and Dawn Woodward of Visalia, California, and 9 grandchildren

He is preceded in death by his wife, Connie Cripps, son, David Cripps, and brothers, Ted and Harold Cripps.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 11, 2007, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, with Bishop Paul Fairbourn officiating. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and the Idaho Honor Guard. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
