Boyd L. Getsinger, 7 years shy of reaching his goal of 95, husband of Elaine for 63 years, father of Nolan (Olga), Sondra (Lynn), Patty (David), Kevin (Karen), Kim (Marcella), and Marilyn (Jimmy), passed away early April 25, 2011, from malignant melanoma at the home of his daughter, Marilyn. Children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were there to wish him God speed. The family will forever hold his daughter, Marilyn, her husband Jim, and her children in highest esteem for the gentle and unwavering care and love given in these past most difficult months. Thanks to all who have shown love and support in a most unforgiving situation. Dad developed a deep appreciation for life, family and the earth. He had an opportunity to own and live in a beautiful tropical land, but he and Elaine sold it all to be with family, which he enjoyed for 27 more years. In contrast, he weathered the harsh winters of Idaho as a small price to pay to display his love of family. Besides his wife and children, he is survived by 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
