Obituary

Brandon DeVear Parris, 49, passed away on July 7, 2024, fishing on the river. He loved fishing with his kids, family, and friends. He was a devoted father who deeply loved and cared for Marley and Levi. Brandon was genuine, honest, empathetic towards others, easy to love, and made an impact in others' lives by being himself. He was fun, loved to tease and joke around, and would lend a hand when asked. Brandon was caring and loved his family and friends unconditionally.

Brandon was born March 1, 1975, in Blackfoot, Idaho to Debbie J. Johnson and Earl DeVear Parris. He was Debbie's 2nd child and was very shy and bashful. At the age of 12, his family moved to Las Vegas then moved to Port Orchard, Washington when he was 17. He found his love for the outdoors while hunting and fishing with his dad and grandpa. He attended South Kitsap High School. He stayed in the Bremerton/Port Orchard area until his dad passed away and then moved to Idaho Falls to be closer to his mom and sisters. He loved working in the shop with his grandpa and became a good welder.

On July 20, 2009, Brandon and Connie J Paulsen welcomed their beautiful daughter (Miss) Marley P. Paulsen. She filled Brandon's heart and grew to be daddy's girl.  Connie's son Levi D. Paulsen was 2 when Brandon took on the role of his father. Brandon and Levi embraced a loving father/son relationship. Levi describes his dad as a "sweet old man". Brandon was fulfilled by the love he shared with his kids, who were his everything.

He worked hard to provide for his kids and loved fishing, hunting, camping, and being with loved ones and friends. Brandon was a hard worker and enjoyed working in construction. For the past 7 years, he has worked for Curt Wells doing Carpentry. He loved his work and his work family. By staying happy the crew could always count on Brandon to have a smile and laugh to cheer them up, especially when they were down, stressed, or having a bad day. Brandon was a breath of fresh air for the guys at work.

Brandon is survived by his daughter, Marley Paulsen of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Levi (Joeclyn)  Paulsen of Boise, ID; mother, Debbie (Dave) Johnson of Ontario, OR; stepmother, Sherrie  Parris of Port Orchard, WA; brothers: Doug (Michelle) Parris of Idaho Falls, ID, Jeremy Parris of Port Orchard, WA,  and Derek Parris of Connell, WA; sisters: Janessa (Lawrence) Charkins of Klamath Falls, OR, Melissa (Ray) Trotter of Adrian, OR, and Charity (Alvin) Flores of Idaho Falls; many nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Parris; sister, Terri Radford; niece, Aria Meza; and some aunts and uncles.
