Obituary

Brody John Newman, 15, passed away in Monteview, Idaho, from a 4-wheeler accident while working on the farm August 2, 2010. Brody was born July 22, 1995, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Lewis and Dana Newman. He was raised in Monteview, where he attended Terreton Elementary and Junior High School. He played on the Junior High basketball and football teams and ran track. Brody spent much of his time outside and loved to snowboard, wakeboard, snowmobile, and motorbike. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, scout campouts, raising a 4-H pig, and riding horses. Even though he would never admit it, Brody also enjoyed playing the piano. But most of all, Brody loved working side-by-side with his father on the family farm. Brody was his dad's right hand man. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he actively served in the presidencies of his Deacon's and Teacher's quorums. He recently received his Eagle Scout Award on April 18, 2010. Brody had a strong testimony of the gospel and led a life true to his beliefs. Brody's greatest attributes were his contagious smile and laugh. He was also known for his positive attitude, hard work ethic, and love of life. He had many friends who enjoyed being around him. Brody enjoyed spending time with his friends at the sand dunes, and wakeboarding in the canal. Brody was a great brother to three sisters and a younger brother who looked up to him. He had a great relationship with every member of his family and would do anything for anyone, especially his sisters. Brody was known for his obedience. His parents appreciated his willingness to do whatever he was asked. Brody is survived by his parents, Lewis and Dana Newman, two older sisters, Jayci, and Tylee; a little sister, Addisen, and a younger brother, Brevan; grandparents, LaVar and Louise Newman; grandfather, Dale Mickelsen.
