Obituary

On June 9, 2025, Heaven gained an amazing angel, as we said goodbye to our beloved husband, father, brother, grandpa, and friend, Bruce D. Brinton. Bruce, 69, passed away unexpectedly from a sudden heart attack at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Bruce was born on August 15, 1955, in Rigby, Idaho, to William Max and Maxxine Brinton. He was the fifth of seven children in the Brinton family. Bruce grew up in the Coltman area and graduated from Madison High School.

On May 4, 1979, Bruce married his true love and eternal companion, Sandra Virgin Brinton, in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together, they were blessed with five beautiful children: Miranda, Phillip, Margo, Patrick, and Megan. The family made their home in Idaho Falls, where Bruce worked as a crane mechanic at NRF for 35 years.

One of Bruce's greatest passions in life was anything related to guns. He loved participating in competitive cowboy action shooting matches and took great joy in teaching others about gun safety and care. Bruce was an active member of the SEIPS Gun Club, where he was known as Caribou Jack. Through this adventure, he made many lifelong friends.

Bruce will always be remembered for his kind heart and willingness to help others. He was a natural teacher, eager to share his knowledge with his children and anyone who sought to learn. A faithful and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bruce served in numerous callings throughout his life. His love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, was reflected in his service to others, and he touched many lives through his example of faith and kindness.

We find comfort in knowing that Bruce was welcomed into Heaven by his loved ones. A long-awaited reunion with his son, Phillip, granddaughter Hannah, daughter-in-law Nikki, brother-in-law Jerry, and a joyful embrace with his parents and sister awaited him. Bruce will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sandra Virgin Brinton; children: Miranda (Billy) Egan, Margo (JJ) Sensabaugh, Patrick Brinton, and Megan (Landry) Harper: and his cherished grandchildren: Kailee, Madalyn, Brooke, Brynlee, Eliza, Dylan, Carsen, Kohl, Koy, Krew, Salem, DJ, Dalton, James, and Harrison. He is also survived by his siblings: Loretta (Jon) Jensen, Maryl (Paul) Warner, Sam (Marian) Brinton, Aldon (Sarah) Brinton, and Clark (Shelly) Brinton; along with many other beloved family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., June 20, 2025, at the Ammon 11th Ward, 1100 S. Tiebreaker, Idaho Falls. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., June 19, 2025, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at the Ammon Cemetery.

We will love and miss you always, Bruce. Until we meet again.
