Carmen Lee Stompro, 80, of Bowbells, North Dakota, passed away March 8, 2012, at her son's home in Idaho Falls. She had been under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. She was born May 9, 1931, in Bowbells, North Dakota, to Albert Luckman and Cora Dahl. She grew up in Bowbells and in 1949, she graduated from Bowbells High School. In October 1957, she married Arthur Stompro at the Burke County Courthouse. He passed away in March 1970. Carmen lived her life in Bowbells and was employed in various positions at the Burke County Courthouse. She was a member of the Bowbells Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Carmen spent her life raising and taking car of her family. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family, fishing, playing cards, baking cookies with her grandchildren. She enjoyed every opportunity getting together with family, and was very proud of each of her three sons and her 8 grandchildren. Carmen is survived by the following: sons: David (Janice) Stompro of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Gary (Kodell) Stompro of Marysville, Washington, and Greg (Kathy) Stompro of Fargo, North Dakota; Brothers: Bud (Ena) Luckman of Katy, Texas; George (Linda) Luckman of Olotha, Kansas; and Frank (Delores) Luckman of Minot, North Dakota; Sisters: Inie (Ken) Heidelberg of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Bette Reneker of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and 8 grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Stompro. Memorial services will be held later this summer in North Dakota.
