Carol Ann Jay, 77, of Idaho Falls, Idaho went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 27, 2011 surrounded by her family. She was born November 9, 1934 to Daniel and Hilda Gable in Gering, Nebraska. She married Nelson Jay Jr. on June 20, 1954 and they were married for fifty seven years. They lived Greeley, Colorado until 1981 then they moved to Ucon, Idaho for their trucking business. Her passion was her children and grandchildren. She loved to garden. She planted her annual garden from seed, cultivated, harvested, and canned for her family every fall. She loved to cook and bake. Some of her children's favorites were; a glorious turkey dinner, butterballs and noodles, kraut burgers, stewed tomatoes, homemade pies, chocolate chip cookies, beef jerky, and lemon bars. She loved to collect recipes which were in every nook and cranny of her home. She was an incredible seamstress and sewed beautiful clothing for her children, grand children and great grand children. She crotched and sewed afghans, quilts and baby blankets. She was more than a homemaker; she was an excellent bookkeeper for their trucking company for over forty years. Carol is survived by her husband Nelson, her children, Dale and Sherrie Jay, Dean and Tracy Jay, Diane and Kenny Schott, and Debbie and Jesse Banek. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents,her brother Gene, and her in laws Nelson and Lelia Jay.
