Obituary

Carrie Iona Taylor Pierce, 87, of Kuna, Idaho, died June 23, 2007, at the home of her daughter in Ammon, Idaho. She was born July 15, 1919, to Alphonso William Taylor and Anna Louise Andersen in Harrisville, Utah. She graduated from Weber High School.

She married Howard Pierce on Sept. 25, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Ogden until 1945 then moved to Kuna. There they ran a dairy farm and raised their family. In 2006 they moved to Idaho Falls. In addition to her husband, Carrie is survived by four children: Ada (Bob) Anderson, Idaho Falls; Dave (Jackie) Pierce, SLC; Fred (Teresa) Pierce, Nampa; and Dale (Jeanne) Pierce, Nampa. They have 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Mom was a wonderful homemaker and cook, making pies, rolls, ice cream and candy for everyone. She was also a professional seamstress. She left a wonderful legacy by making her children and each grandchild a beautiful handmade quilt. Carrie was a devoted member of the LDS Church, serving in all organizations, but especially enjoyed serving in the Relief Society and Young Women. When the Boise Temple was completed, Carrie was one of the first to serve there.

Carrie's life was one of industry, productivity and service to others. She was devoted to her husband, Howard and all her children and was blessed with an equally devoted family and many good friends who will miss her.

She is also survived by a sister, Nellie McBride and a brother Lowell Taylor both of Kuna. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister.

We would like to thank Creekside Hospice for their help and support.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the Kuna Idaho LDS Stake Center, corner of Black Cat and Kuna Roads in Kuna. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00p.m. at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N. Midland Rd. in Nampa, Idaho, and from 9:00-9:45 a.m. Saturday at the church prior to the service. Local Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary of Idaho Falls.
