Catherine (Cathy) Ann Meldrum Von Borstel, 77, passed away Friday, December 23, 2022, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was under the care of Aspen Hospice.

Cathy was born July 8, 1945, in Orem, Utah to Marvin Everett Meldrum and Catherine Lena Salisbury Meldrum. She grew up in Orem, Utah, and graduated from Orem High School.

Cathy married Harry Sutherland. They had 3 children: Tammy, Scott, and Rusty. They were later divorced. She married Herb Von Borstel, who later passed away.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a loving mother, daughter, and sister. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved her children and grandchildren. She loved reading, swimming, and spending time outdoors. She loved her dog "Nick." She worked at the Post Register for many years in the classified and legal ad section. Later, she worked at Wal-Mart in the shoe section and as a greeter.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Abiola) Dada of Sugarland, Texas; her sons: Scott (Mindy) Sutherland of Rexburg, Idaho, and Rusty (JoAnna) Sutherland of Rexburg, Idaho. Cathy has 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herb Von Borstel; her sister, Carol; and her brother, Joe.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services.
