Cecily Annette Wanlass, 74, formerly of Idaho Falls, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Homestead Senior Living in Rexburg.

She was born on September 4, 1950, in Shelley, Idaho to Leslie R. Wanlass and Rayola M. Smith Wanlass. She grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and attended Skyline High School, graduating in 1968. She went on to attend Brigham Young University and received her bachelor's degree in fine arts.

Cecily has lived in San Fransisco, California, and then spent many years living in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Boise, Idaho, before returning to Idaho Falls.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Cecily had a world-class operatic voice and sang with the Salt Lake Opera Company. She enjoyed performing and sharing her vocal talents for her entire adult life.

Cecily was a beloved mother and grandmother. Her zest for life and love of music will forever be remembered by her family and friends.

Cecily is survived by her daughter, Blythe (John) Van Eps of Terreton, Idaho; her brothers: Les (Chris) Wanlass of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Dave Wanlass of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her sisters: Mary (Richard) Hiett of Etna, California, Lorraine (Jan) Van Komen of St. George, Utah, and Rosalie (Les) Parsons of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Leslie and Rayola Wanlass; her brother, Jeremii Wanlass; and her sister, Emily Whipple.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5366 E. 1st Street, Idaho Falls. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Online condolences may be sent to www.coltrinmortuary.com .
