IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles Blair
Andrews
June 16, 1939 – December 29, 2024
Charles Blair Andrews, lovingly known as Blair, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024, at the age of 85 in his home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, after declining health due to age. Blair was under hospice care and received extraordinary love and attention in his final days from his son and daughter-in-law, Wes and Melissa, who made significant sacrifices to ensure his comfort and care. In a tender twist of fate, his cherished cat, Tippy, also passed away from old age just hours before Blair's passing, perhaps to lead the way for her beloved companion.
Blair was born on June 16, 1939, in San Diego, California, to Gerald Wayne Andrews and Janet "Jean" Matilda McFarland Andrews. He spent his youth in San Diego and graduated with the Helix High School Class of 1957. Shortly after, on August 30, 1957, he married Marydell Frances Easley. Though they later divorced, their union was blessed with eight children to carry on his legacy.
Blair dedicated his life to his craft as a Master Electrician and later as an Electrical Inspector for the State of Idaho. His work took him to live in various locations in California, Utah, and Idaho where he left an indelible mark through his expertise and professionalism.
An active and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Blair lived his faith with humility and purpose. Beyond his professional and spiritual life, he was a man of many talents and hobbies. He had an exceptional gift for repairing and refurbishing almost anything, from furniture to antiques. Known for his entrepreneurial spirit, he loved collecting, fixing, and selling treasures that others might overlook.
He is survived by his eight children: Lorie Jaussi (Mark) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Shelly Robison (Jesse) of Layton, Utah, Chris Andrews of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Julie Baker (John) of Golden, Colorado, Wes Andrews (Melissa) of Idaho Falls, Jody Nykamp (Bruce) of Milo, Guy Andrews (Heather) of Rigby, Idaho, and Daryl Andrews of Ammon, Idaho. He leaves behind the legacy of 25 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren who will always cherish his memory. Blair was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Jean.
Blair's loved ones find solace in imagining him happily reunited with his parents and two brothers, his beloved cats, and surrounded by endless antiques and projects to restore in the next life. His skilled hands, quick wit, and boundless generosity will be deeply missed, but his influence will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched.
A Journey Home
Through trials faced and lessons learned,
A heart once heavy, now has turned.
Forgiveness given, wounds made whole,
Redemption's light has claimed his soul.
In quiet moments, he found his way,
Through humble prayer, he'd kneel and stay.
Repentance softened every tear,
The Savior's love drew ever near.
By Christ's atonement, grace poured free,
He's mended now, eternally.
At peace, he walks where angels roam,
In heaven's arms, he's welcomed home.
A celebration of Blair's life will be held at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
