Charles "Chuck" Harold McClure, 86, of Dubois, Idaho, passed away Friday, January 24, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. He was born May 15, 1927, in Roberts, Idaho, the son of James McClure and Sarah Stevens McClure. He grew up in Monteview and attended school in Roberts He lived in Monteview until he was 18 years old and then entered the Navy serving during World War II. Following his discharge, he went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad. On October 15, 1949, he married Mildred Ruth Ownby. Chuck retired from the railroad in 1989. Dubois has been his home for most of his life. He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Idaho Falls. He was also a member of the American Legion. Chuck enjoyed woodworking and carpentry, gardening, fishing and hunting in his younger years. He was a wonderful husband, loving father and grandfather, and a caring, loving neighbor. He is survived by the following: Wife, Mildred McClure of Dubois; Son, Kevin McClure of Post Falls, Idaho; Daughter: Carolan Thompson of Spirit Lake, Idaho, and Carla McClure of Idaho Falls; Brother, James McClure of Twin Falls; Sister, Mary McClure of Flathead Lake, Montana; 12 grandchildren and 12 Great-grandchildren. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Monte McClure and 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Memorial services will be at 11: a.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 220 N. Placer, Idaho Falls, under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls.
