Charles Robert Harvie, age 90, of Challis Idaho, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on March 14, 2025. Charlie was born in Sweetgrass, Montana on December 3, 1934, to James and Melandia Mae Blanchard Harvie. He spent his early years growing up around the Sweetgrass, Montana, and Coutts, Alberta, Canada area. He worked on the family farm, as a mechanic, welder, and bartender.

He honorably served his country by enlisting in the Army and was deployed to Korea. After his service, he performed concrete work on the Wanapum Dam on the Columbia River and interstate overpasses near Shelby, Montana. He made his way to Challis, Idaho where he met and married Verla Keppner on December 9, 1963. They celebrated over 61 years of marriage together. They were blessed with five children: Susan, Micheal, Patricia, Kathryn, and Margaret. While raising their family, they owned several businesses including Gateway Service Station, Chuck's Welding and Sales, Bux's Place, and Harvie Construction. His professions included being a mechanic, welder, fabricator, car salesman, bartender, and construction. He was well known for his wood stoves and other creations which he built and his enjoyment of collecting classic cars. He was a hard worker but always took the time to visit with others, tell jokes, play pranks, and socialize. He loved to spend time with his family fishing, boating at the lake, working alongside his family, and instilling his work ethic. Charlie was a respected member of the Challis Community and will be truly missed.
