Charles "Charlie" Ralph Veach, 72, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 16, 2012, at his home. Hearts for Hospice assisted the family with his care. Charlie was born March 12, 1940, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to George Veach and Luvia McCowin Veach. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He married Sara Beth Payseno in Bismark, North Dakota, and they have been married for forty-eight years. Since 1960, Charlie has driven over 6 million miles as a long haul truck driver throughout the fifty states. He was the owner-operator of the year for P.F.T. and driver of the year for Eagle Farms of Idaho Falls. Charlie enjoyed having coffee with his friends at truck stops, spending time with and teaching his grandchildren to drive, and watching old Western movies particularly John Wayne, with the volume at full range. He always had a smile and a joke for everyone he met. Charlie was always there for his friends and co-workers and in return, they were there for him. He is survived by the following: wife, Sara Beth Veach of Idaho Falls; Daughters: Kathy (Brad) Cromie of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Dawn (Brian) Hodge of Johnson City, Tennessee; Son, Charles (Chuck) Veach of IdahoFalls; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Karl Veach, and a sister, Pricilla. The family will visit with friends Friday, September 21, 2012, from 7-9:00 p.m. at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls.
