Cheryl Ann Purkey Kalivas, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2026, at her residence at Morningstar. She was under the care of Oakstone Hospice.

Cheryl was born October 18, 1946, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Don Purkey and Alice Jugler Purkey. She grew up in Pocatello, Idaho, and graduated from Highland High School in 1964.

She married Kent Wheeler in 1965. They later divorced. In September 1994, she married Bill Kalivas. They later divorced in 2015.

Throughout her life, Cheryl lived in both Idaho and California. She was a member of Job’s Daughters and enjoyed serving as a Girl Scouts leader. She loved traveling, spending time with friends, and hosting gatherings where she could bring people together.

Cheryl was full of life. She was nurturing, generous, giving, and she had a special way of making those around her feel cared for and welcome. Her love for her family and friends will be deeply missed.

Cheryl is survived by her daughter, Terrilee (Rod) Dockstader of Swan Valley, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her son, Clinton Wheeler; and her parents, Don and Alice Purkey.
